Cruising offers a plethora of things to do, especially on sea days. It’s great because there is something for everyone. Looking at the list of all offerings can be overwhelming and there isn’t time to do everything. This makes for some hard decisions. After multiple cruises, we have been able to narrow it down and find some of our favorites. So, what to do on a Carnival cruise, Here’s our list of 7!
Table of Contents
Afternoon Tea
(basic teas are free and specialty teas are around $1.95 extra)
Ok, this is definitely one of my favorites to take part in. I love Afternoon Tea. The French Lemon Ginger tea is definitely worth the splurge. The tea sandwiches, pastries, and cakes don’t disappoint. The scones are my personal favorite.
Comedy Show
(the family-friendly and adult-only are both worth watching)
Always check the daily itinerary to see if they’ll have a family-friendly comedy show. Children aren’t allowed in the adult comedy show. I’ve seen exceptions to this rule for toddlers who are napping or for infants (awake or napping). But don’t get upset if the cruise member enforces the rule, they’re just doing their job. Late-Night babysitting is available for an extra fee, be sure to look into that option as well.
Stage Shows
(our favorites are the Lip Sync Battle and Playlist Productions)
We have yet to be disappointed in any of their shows. The cast is always amazing and they do a fantastic job!
Dive-in Movies
(follow John Heald on Facebook to see each months movie list)
I LOVE watching outside on Carnival. I don’t always get the chance to, but if it’s age-appropriate for my boys or they’re being entertained by family, I definitely jump at the chance to watch one. Bonus, they do serve fresh-popped popcorn too!
Guy’s Burger Joint
(FREE, Carnival Ships: Breeze, Conquest, Dream, Ecstasy, Elation, Fantasy, Fascination, Freedom, Glory, Horizon, Imagination, Inspiration, Legend, Liberty, Magic, Panorama, Paradise, Pride, Sensation, Spirit, Sunrise, Sunshine, Valor, Victory, Vista, Mardi Gras, Radiance, and coming soon to Miracle)
With freshly grilled burgers and fresh-cut fries, what is there not to like? Our cruising group gets food here almost daily. The fries are great for an afternoon snack with a drink, especially if you’re on late dining. Dreaming they offer a turkey burger option in the future!
Free Lunch at Cucina Del Capitano/Captain’s Pasta Bar
(dinner is typically $15 for adults and $5 for kids 11 and under)
We have yet to have a pasta dish we didn’t like. You get to create your own pasta dish from a list of options. If you choose shrimp to be put into your pasta you won’t be disappointed.
Enjoy a drink while being entertained at the Piano Bar
Enjoy a drink almost anywhere for that matter, you’re on a cruise! But how often do you really get the chance to go to a Piano Bar? Now’s the time to step out and try something new or something you don’t get to do very often.
Final Thoughts on What to Do on a Carnival Cruise
There is so much you can do! What you like and choose to do will depend on you and who you’re traveling with. Carnival will have daily itineraries all of the various activities for the day.
